NY State Mold Regulations
Minimum Requirements for License
Applicants (under Article 32, Title 1)
• Must be 18-years of age or older
• Must have satisfactorily completed NYSDOL
Commissioner-approved course work
• Must have paid the appropriate fees as
provided in subdivision six of the law
• Must have submitted insurance certificates
evidencing workers' compensation coverage,
if required, and liability insurance of at least
fifty-thousand dollars.
NY State Mold Regulations
Exemptions - The following persons shall
not be required to obtain a license as provided
in Article 32, in order to perform mold
inspection, assessment, remediation or
abatement:
1. A residential property owner that performs
the work on his or her own property.
2. A non-residential property owner, or their
full-time employee or managing agent that
performs the work on that owner's building
with four or less dwelling units.
